Closest to home, Sutton has a thriving Post Office and general store selling most of the essentials of life. There are also a Farm Shop and a Garden Centre in Sutton, and a retail park at nearby Lyme Green for DIY, pets, furnishings and electrical goods.

Macclesfield has two large supermarkets on the edge of town and a good selection of chain stores in the centre. There are also several high-class traditional butchers selling locally produced meat, specialist delicatessens and an excellent fresh fish shop. The area also has a “Love Local” scheme, with discounts available from a number of independent shops and suppliers.

Home delivery

Ocado, Waitrose and Tesco will all deliver to the farm as well as a local company, Go Shop Local, which specialises in delivering locally produced or sourced items.

Farmers' markets

There are also regular farmers’ markets nearby, including in Leek and Buxton and at Cloverbank Farm in Gawsworth.

Further afield

John Lewis, Cheadle, and the retail parks at Handforth Dean and Stanley Park are 40 minutes drive away, while the major shopping centres of both Manchester and Stoke are about an hour away by car or 30 minutes by train from Macclesfield. Wilmslow also has a pleasant shopping centre, with a number of quality fashion outlets and Hoopers department store (much loved by WAGS).
